No vacancy

First come, first serve, and you had the nerve
to show up early and dare to reserve
the best room in the house.

It’s the best room, tiny, but perfectly located,
with full access and panoramic view
in the hotel of the heart where you
have taken up permanent residence.

Being a small establishment,
there have been limited guests.
They tend to come and go
as your perseverance requests.

Try as I might to kick you out,
since you didn’t pay the rent,
you sit as snug as a bug in a rug.
Images of the moments we’ve spent.
