I’m on my way back home again

What to do on a rainy Sunday? Things just seem to happen. I find youtube a lot of fun, because you can call up any song you want. For some reason, I thought about the Partridge Family today. Yes, since I’ve already made so many confessions, here’s one more: I absolutely loved, adored and worshipped David Cassidy. I guess I was 10 years old, and my bedroom wall was covered with posters cut out from the various magazines. I had all of their records — including the Christmas album.
The show used to be on Friday nights, along with the Brady Bunch. It was a big deal. I often had pyjama parties to celebrate. We put on our pj’s, made popcorn, and settled down to watch those two shows on TV. That was the high point of the week for quite some time. It was also a painful punishment if I wasn’t allowed to watch it because I got in trouble.
So I looked at a few of the videos, since “I think I love you” is the only song I remembered off-hand, but as soon as I listened to a few, I could almost sing along. Amazing. Since I’m going home to the States for a visit in a few weeks, and since the general development lately is towards coming home to my true self, this song seems nicely appropriate. Have a nice Sunday. If it’s raining wherever you are, maybe you want to have some fun and dig out some old memories. We’ve experienced so much more than we realize!
I’m on my way back home

Got on a silver plane and flew away,
chased all my rainbows to the end
I wish I knew then what I know today,
I’m on my way back home again
Love —
that’s what’s waitin’ for me,
that’s where I’ve got to be
Just to look in your eyes,
feel your lips touchin’ mine
I’m on my way back home, gonna fly
I’m on my way back home, gonna fly
I’m on my way, I’m on my way back home to you
I went to look for Mister Happiness, only to find he wasn’t in
Wouldn’t you know I had the wrong address, I’m on my way back home again
Love —
that’s what’s waitin’ for me,
that’s where I’ve got to be
Just to look in your eyes,
feel your lips touchin’ mine
I remember when you told me I’d return
You knew even then something I had to learn
It’s so far and yet it’s right there where you live
It’s something that you get only when you give and it’s
Love —
that’s what’s waitin’ for me,
that’s where I’ve got to be
Just to look in your eyes,
feel your lips touchin’ mine
