Confidence revisited

Well, with confidence I really threw myself a curve ball. Today yet again I had to keep it. And what happened? I listened to the vocal tracks that I recorded yesterday and went up and down during the course of the day, from “I will just forget about it” to “I will just sing the rest of the songs and get it over with, and then move on to other things” to “It sounds fine, needs improvement, and I can do it.” I’ve had a sore throat since last week and just don’t have my normal voice.

I had no idea that this was going to happen! I’ve decided for my sanity to let go of the word tomorrow. I’ll put it under my pillow tonight, put it away tomorrow morning, and trust that some things simply take more time. It’s like trying to do something right. Sometimes it’s best to take a break, do something else, and then get back to it. Tomorrow morning I’ll put the piece of paper away and focus on something else for a change.

Of course, confidence is about more than just singing. That’s just a handy example. My confidence in myself is shaky. Oh, maybe that’s why I have such a hard time making decisions?! Because I’m so worried I’ll be wrong. Hmm… I may be on to something there. I’m glad I thought about this.

Does anybody else out there have trouble with confidence? Maybe you could tell me why it’s so hard? And so fragile?

When you believe you are worthy your confidence will soar till then it will take a bit longer, be a bit harder. Don’t give up the words just put that one aside, put it in a box close to your bed and each time you come to a word that has this effect on you put it in that box. When the time is right, you will know when, then pull it out again.

Here is your word for tomorrow: Inspirational

You can do this, I believe in you even if you don’t, I believe

Thank you, thank you! You are so sweet! I figured it that way — sometimes I can only do so much with a word, then put it aside for a while. This is taking some rather unexpected twists! Thank you for tomorrow’s word! That’s quite a suggestion! 🙂

If you really want to have confidence, you can’t stop trying after two days. Confidence is something you have to fight the subconscious about, and it takes awhile to reteach your mind that you are a confident person. Words on paper when you sleep can only represent and do so much.

To change his terrible confidence, Njord had to actually study it. He had to learn how to change his body language, his speech, and the way he carried himself. As Njord put on confident attributes, his mind began to think this way as well. But Njord didn’t do it in his sleep, and it sure as hell didn’t take a few days. It took months of constantly checking that Njord was portraying the person he wanted to be and not to let his subconscious mind take over.

Long-winded but only because confidence is THE key to everything else you want to achieve in life. If you had the confidence in yourself to actually stick with confidence, then once you achieved that goal, you would know that you’re able to achieve other positive attributes just as easily. So put the other words away, take confidence back out, and stick with it until you have it.

I am grinning because I feel like a kid who got caught because she didn’t finish her homework assignment. Thank you very much for taking the time for such a long-winded reply! It definitely does not fall on closed ears (eyes). I agree with you totally and like this approach. As I wrote about people who inspire, I realized that their confidence was also at the base of their success. So many thoughts come to mind, I think I’ll put this up as a post! Thanks a LOT! 🙂
