Another challenge

It looked so good, but today my daughter got a phone call to tell her that someone else had been picked for the apprenticeship. She was disappointed, but then said she looked forward to going to school instead. I feel really bad for her, but also try to see the positive side. The school will be interesting and give her more preparation for the working world. And student life is still a bit more relaxed than working regularly.

Sometimes things come differently than we expect. The good surprises we take on more happily, but this twist we’ll accept as well. Although we’d kind of expected it all to work out, we didn’t totally bank on it, knowing that the decision wouldn’t be made until Tuesday. So we’ll take it on, this sudden turn, and trust that the universe has something even better in store. Or maybe the timing isn’t right just yet. Later on, at some point, it will all make sense.

Nevertheless, I appreciate the details of the experience and that my daughter and I are growing closer. That counts, too. I’m still here for her, and life goes on. That’s what it’s about.
